Preventive Dentistry

Your life may be so busy with obligations that finding time for dental appointments may seem challenging. Unfortunately, it’s easy to put things like dental care on the back burner, especially if you’re not currently having any serious problems.

But the fact is that the optimal time for looking after your teeth is before problems occur.

Routine visits for preventive services like cleanings and exams help us stay a step ahead of problems by correcting them before they create serious oral health issues.

At Lyndhurst Dental Associates, we can manage the dental needs of your whole family in one convenient location. We welcome all patients from toddlers to the most senior members of your family.

Preventive Family Dental Care

Proper personal oral hygiene is one of the best defenses against many forms of periodontal disease. But preventive services like dental exams and professional cleanings are equally important for building a strong foundation for a healthy smile.

Without these routine treatments, a problem like periodontal disease can develop and damage your teeth and gums before you’re even aware it’s present. If we find that gum disease is already a problem for you, we can take the steps to treat the problem and get your oral health back on track.

Tooth decay in children poses serious health risks and is the most common chronic childhood disease. We love treating children because we recognize the importance of giving them a good start with their oral health care. We usually see children starting at age 3, but please feel free to call us if you have concerns about your younger child’s oral health.

Oral Cancer Screening

Whenever you visit us for an exam or dental cleaning, we’ll discuss your oral history and examine your mouth for signs of oral cancer. During the screening, we’ll visually inspect your soft tissues as well as palpate (examine by touch) your jaw and neck.

Routine visits to our Winston-Salem dental office increase the odds that any suspicious changes in your mouth will be caught early, when cancer can be more easily treated. Between visits, it's also important to be aware of any signs of oral cancer and to make an appointment with us if they don’t disappear after a couple weeks.

Convenient, Comprehensive Care

We want to do everything we can to make your dental care convenient and stress-free. We’ll work with your family’s needs and arrange appointments that fit your busy schedule. We offer early morning hours that allow you to get in to see us before work or school. If it’s easier for you, we’ll be happy to set up group appointments so everyone in your family can be treated at the same time.

Our patients in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas have trusted us with their dental care for decades. You can count on us to treat you with honesty, integrity, and a true concern for your needs and desires.

Please give us a call to schedule your next appointment for a cleaning or exam. We look forward to becoming your partner in your oral health care!
